Brother MFC-J4710DW Printer Drivers. The Brother MFC-J4710DW has everything I want from a printer: WLAN, duplex printing, a feeder, AirPrint. Already for the packaging there is a thumbs up! Everything is super nested, with cardboard shapes and a little styrofoam. Nothing can fall or break during transport. As always, a lot of waste is created during unpacking, but that can not be avoided if the product is to be delivered intact.
The first impression is great. The device is relatively large and robust, but is quite compact. A first plus point is the display / button panel, which can be easily tilted upwards, so you can read it better. Little things make it but often! The black looks great, also that the surface is rough, it will probably make something less sensitive to dust.
Cable in and off you go. You will be super guided through the installation on the small LCD display. The ink cartridges are always a bit of a fiddle, but that's part of it. I do not need to mention that there is a lot of waste here as well. The Brother comes out with four cartridges as usual: Magenta, Yellow, Cyan and Black. Are the cartridges in it, it goes to the first test print, which has worked wonderfully! Before that, of course, paper must still be placed in the paper cassette, which can be found in the lower area. That too is child's play. And the paper tray takes up plenty of paper, enough for about 100 pages (rough estimate).
So, now comes the critical phase: connecting to the Wi-Fi network. And lo and behold. It works wonderfully. As a user, of course, you are happy when you are easily guided through the setup via the display. Even my Mac OS has then found the printer easily. And also over my iPad I was able to print flawlessly via the AirPrint function. And over Windows 10, the wireless connection works just as easily. The enclosed installation CD is superfluous in my case. The delivery would have saved Brother in my view so. In my opinion, even a printed version of the user manual is redundant, you could synonymous digitally share.

The result: It looks really good. Nothing to complain about, no stains, streaks, streaks, dropouts, absolutely nothing. Sharp, clean pages are printed. Colorful as well as black and white. No matter what medium. The duplex printing also works great!
I feel the printer but as relatively loud. Especially the paper feeder. But so far I have not discovered a printer that would be quiet in my ears. But the pressure goes pretty fast! However, complex PowerPoint slides need a bit.

Subject scanning / copying: both work perfectly. If you open the scanner cover, you will find the scanner. As usual, marks are on the edges for all common paper sizes. The scan menu (tested on the Mac) is as usual clear and you can adjust a lot (selection, resolution, type). The quality can not be argued, the volume during scanning is normal, as well as the speed. The same applies to the copying process.
Scanning on the feeder is also relatively good. It takes a long time, but it is comfortable, because you can not insert side by side. Unfortunately, this only works with single-sided sheets.
Personally, I do not need a fax at all, this feature is more suitable for office use. The display will show Wi-Fi status, time and date, and how full the cartridges are. Like that. The operation of the panel works well. You have a clear menu for every function. In most cases, it always becomes clear which key has to be pressed in order to achieve the desired function. A kind of "home" button with the corresponding function would still be desirable. The keys are soft and give a good feedback.
My conclusion: Brother MFC-J4710DW is a great device, all around! There is almost nothing to complain about. Only little things like the volume, the not very environmentally friendly packaging or the lack of a Homebutton. But that's as if you would complain that in a Bentley an ice cube tray is missing: because that is unimportant and only over the top. 5 out of 5 stars and buy recommendation!
