With my historic trusty CanoScan, I could push a button and the photo popped up in my favorite drawing application. Now not so with the HP program, which wishes to control each snapshot on your pc, construct an album everytime it launches, etc. Even in any case that, it leaves the image in a "Temp" folder deep within the bowels of your pc, instead of in "My photos" where it belongs. Remember the glaring/intrusive "auto replace" application and other ancillary programs.
