Ricoh Aficio SP C242SF Printer Driver. The All-in-one color laser printer, the Aficio SP C242SF is aimed primarily at enterprises (SMEs) in that it promises a small footprint, print speeds increased for a low cost (TCO). The printer is quite impressive with its 42 x 49 x 47 cm to 30 kg. Its finishes inspire confidence. No doubt we are dealing with a sturdy and solid machine. The Aficio SP C242SF print, scan, copy and fax, all in duplex and networked. Its 256 MB of memory ensure easy sharing within a group of fifty people. PCL and PostScript languages are part of, as software solutions PageManager PC fax and utility. The supported operating systems are limited to Windows and Mac, no Linux. No Wi-Fi either on this machine, a choice that reassures some companies. Side protection, the printer provides a secure print system with the option of entering a username and password.

No touch on this machine, everything goes through physical buttons. Manufacturers have tried to explain that businesses prefer not touch, it is clear that taking into hands of orders remains less intuitive. It will therefore become familiar with the machine before they feel comfortable. Easy access is the adjective that suits the 4 separate cartridges housed in the hole of the machine. Imposing and relatively heavy, they are caught easily to replace the color that is lacking. The tray provides a capacity of 250 sheets. If that's not enough, a 500-sheet paper tray is sold as an option. The flow rates are fast. The note does not reach 5 stars because it is penalized by the lack of responsiveness (see box) which comes into play in the final scoring rates. Unusually, I find that the rates are the same in all modes: color, black and white and in draft mode. By comparison are comparable to color laser HP Laser Jet Pro 400 color MFP M475dn (22 ppm). The speeds recorded here are higher than the Xerox Workcentre 6015 NI that prints 12 ppm in color and 16 ppm black and white. Nevertheless, the Brother MFC-9970CDW, the fastest color laser multifunction printer for my comparison, is still leading the pack with 30 ppm color and black and white.
